the private life we used to know finds us in memory like the sun through a window illuminating dust in the air the private life I used to know the private life you used to know has the depth of an ocean waiting below the desert to rise the private life we used to know is a spectre without an image of itself haunting the socially necessitated the private life I used to know the private life you used to know has the depth of an ocean waiting below the desert to rise the private life we used to know stepped outside us and kept going quietly unbeholden to freedom to freedom the private life I used to know the private life you used to know has the depth of an ocean waiting below the desert to rise

about

The Stakes Are Us formed in 2021 as a collaborative songwriting experiment under pandemic conditions. Ideas have been shared and developed virtually/electronically, with discussion largely (but not entirely) taking place via email and texting. Jeremy hopes there will be live performances eventually, utilizing a mix of prerecorded and live instrumentation, but he'll have to talk Trevor into it first. When When Is Gone is their first release and should ideally be experienced as a full-length, two-sided record album.

A video will be released for each of the 12 tracks (once a week, starting with the initial release date of March 1, 2022). Please visit The Stakes Are Us youtube channel here:

Jeremy was once a member of Night Bust, Payday Millionaire, The Weather and The Blush Response (attempting voice and guitar in all), as well as The Enemy Feathers, The Basement Sweets and Circle Of Ill Health (on drums).

Trevor has previously been a part of Sparkle Fuzz (electronic programming-type stuff, guitar), Scin Laeca (guitar, keyboard, bass guitar), Betty Kracker (guitar, backing vocals), and The Rain and the Sidewalk (all of the above).
